New IH backpack

The 13th (day of the appointment at Bern for SLM and me) we were lucky to get the first Integral Hang backpacks. They had just arrived by box to the HangBauHaus. They might still change, as the oval of the IH hard case goes in horizontally with this batch of bags, which is in my opinion less practical then vertical (have to watch it when walking through doors). It's doable though smile, and this way you can also use the hand grip of the hard case when you open up the zipper a little.

The inside seems to be neoprene, and the outside is of some synthetic material which seems to be completely waterproof. I threw a glass of water over the backpack and it bounced right off. A couple of drops of water remained in a wrinkle (I didn't put in the case for the test wink) and when I looked about a minute later they were not absorbed. I'll post some pictures now, if a moderator would rather have them in the 'Gallery' section just let me know.

Re: New IH backpack

Hi pulpfiction1,
thanks for the permission to use your photos for an entry in the Hangblog.

I'm now working on an entry in the Hang Lexicon about Hang bags, cases and protective shells.

I'm searching for photos of the old colored original PANArt bags for the first generation and of the padded backpack bag of the second generation. Has anybody Photos of theses bags and let me publish them in the Hang Lexicon?

Re: New IH backpack

Just got this email from Felix:

"To the owners of a Integral Hang

PANArt offers a back pack for your Hang. Finally we could realise it with WINTER GmbH, Germany, which made also our Hang case.

It is waterproof and slightly padded, weight 560 Grams.
As you can see on the pictures-it is very comfortable to wear.

Price: 50 Euros/80 USD
Shipping (economy) and packaging: 15 Euros/ 22 USD"

Re: New IH backpack

hey @Ix,

My Hang came with a bag from "Stagg", would you like some pictures of it?

Thanks for the update @Pulp!

I just don't understand one thing, is the bag constituted by the outter bag and the hard case?

greets

Re: New IH backpack

Mosey - did they include photos of the bags?  I'd love to know if they shifted the straps so that the Hang is held vertically instead of Horizontally.

Re: New IH backpack

Thanks for the info.  How do we order a bag, if someone hasn't already addressed that.  Do we have to hike to a Tibetian Monastary or answer a riddle before we can buy one or can we just do it online or something like that?

Sorry Rob... but I don't get it... neutral

@Ix it is a bag provided by PANArt but it doesn't say PANArt any where... but that was the bag they were selling with HangHang at the time...! Its probably not what you are looking for... the bag has lots of divisions inside so it was probably created for a drumset or something.. and PANArt adapted it..!

Re: New IH backpack

The bag you are talking about lost i think will be a bag designed for cymbals for a drum kit, a guy who has an early hang also has one of these bags, not sure if it came from panart or not though smile

Re: New IH backpack

I think it did... The previous owner of my Hang told me he bought it with the Hang... but maybe it was the store where he bought the Hang that provided these...

I know he bought his Hang in Leeds, and I've seen another Hang (for sale on ebay, with the number 3089, mine is #3086) and had the same bag... but maybe it was just the seller in Leeds that provided these...!

Re: New IH backpack

ahhhhhh you are prob right there lost as the guy i know bought his in 'knock on wood' in leeds and he has the same bag so the seller 'knock on wood' was prob selling this type bag with hanghang before the panart bags came available smile

'knock on wood' is an odd name of a musical shop that sold a steel instrument though dont you think lol

Probably there are some former Hang Dealers who had their own bags. Anklang Musikwelt, the former German Hand distributor by 2005 had an own bag that was better than the former PANArt bags for the first generation because it was padded on both sides. Therefor I bought this bag and not the original PANArt bag (and therefor I have no old PANArt bag to make a photo). In 2006 PANArt introduced the single protection shells and in 2007 the double shells and new bags an backpacks.
